Culinary Staffing Service is looking for energetic, experienced, Front of the House team members who are passionate about hospitality.

We are looking for service professionals with experience in a wide array of hospitality and food service sectors including: restaurants, hotels, special events and catering services.

We are looking for competent and reliable professionals who understand the details of table service, demonstrate acts and principles of exemplary customer service, and are problem solvers who have the ability to work independently with little oversight and supervision.

Requirements:

  • CA Food Handlers Certificate or Serve Safe Certification. If you do not currently have certification or your current certification has expired, no need to worry, you have 30 days from the date you are hired to get the certification and we can assist you with the process!
  • 1 year of professional fine dining service.
  • Attention to detail and proper table setting etiquette.
  • Energetic, passionate, generous, and a willingness to go above and beyond expectations.
  • Maintain assigned work station including safe and sanitary conditions in all work areas.
  • Maintains impeccable standards of personal hygiene and complies with Culinary Staffing Service dress code.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, high energy work place while maintaining a gracious and courteous attitude.
  • Completes assigned tasks and work duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Provide high level customer service and are willing to adapt to an ever-changing work environment.
  • Experience in all aspects of food service including table maintenance, steps of service, and other service standards and procedures set by our clientele.
  • Assist co-workers actively and ensure a high level of hospitality and customer service.

  • General duties include washing, cleaning and disinfecting dishes, silverware, pots, pans, kitchenware as well as maintaining work areas in an orderly and sanitary condition.
  • Operate a commercial dishwashing machine with careful dishware handling.
  • ServSafe or Food Handlers Certificate required within 30 days of hire.

Specific Skills/Education Required:

  • Minimum 1 year of professional fine dining/banquet experience required for cook-level positions.
  • All kitchen staff should either be currently enrolled in or have graduated from a culinary arts program (we will consider a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen in lieu of the academic requirement).
  • High comfort level with a variety of work areas, including sautéing, frying, grilling, expediting, and actions stations.
  • Ability to professionally engage with both guests and on-site supervisors, follow instructions and perform all job-related duties as necessary.
  • Understand and safely use all kitchen equipment and utilize safe knife skills at all times.
  • Maintain and organize your work station and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Complete opening and closing duties as assigned while assuming shared responsibility for the breakdown and cleanliness of the overall work environment.

Other Duties As Assigned:

  • Assist management in the control of food costs by eliminating waste and over production.
  • Consistently and accurately complete temperature logs.
  • Consistently follow recipes, preparation methods, and portion control procedures.
  • Properly label, date and store all products to ensure proper food handling, maximum shelf life and sanitation compliance.
  • Ensure all products are rotated on a first in, first out (FIFO) basis.
  • Work independently while simultaneously coordinating with team members to ensure that food is plated and served in accordance with Chef/kitchen standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to reach, bend, squat and stoop while cooking and preparing food and other products.
  • Ability to transport up to 30 pounds repetitively throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to work with prolonged exposure to hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and move safely but rapidly between work stations.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.

As a staff member representing our agency at a wide variety of events across greater Los Angeles, you will need to meet the following requirements:

  • 100% dependable—must show up for every assigned shift and only call out with a minimum of 24 hours notice.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Maintain the highest professional standards in regards to appearance, attitude and a clean uniform.
  • Posses a smart phone with GPS that allows you to send and receive calls and texts.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of hours.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to to perform tasks within a team structure.
  • Ability to reliably travel to events by car or public transportation is a must!

Specific Skills/Education Required:

  • Minimum 1 year of professional dining/banquet experience in a prep cook position.
  • Ability to see and comprehend managers and fellow staff for cooking instructions.
  • Understand and safely use all kitchen equipment (slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.) and utilize safe knife skills at all times.
  • Express a friendly and service-focused demeanor with the public, management and fellow staff members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen while making prep recipes and menu products to spec.
  • Properly label, date, cover, and refrigerate prepped items for the line.

Other Duties As Assigned:

  • Follow kitchen safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and organize your work station and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Knowledge of weights, measurements, volume and cooking/recipe.
  • Complete assigned prep work to stock and set up stations and all tasks for shift transition and closing.
  • Work independently and as a team to support Chefs and Line Cooks.
  • Properly label, date and store all products to ensure safe food handling, maximum shelf life and sanitation compliance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, work and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, bend and frequently lift pots, pans, products, and other items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors; sometimes with prolonged exposure to hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to identify and alert managers to workplace hazards.

We are actively looking for housekeeping room attendants who have experience working in luxury hotels.

This position requires:

  • 1-2+ years’ experience as a room attendant at a luxury hotel.
  • Basic abilityto comprehend and speak English sufficiently to understand and respond to information such as labelsinstructions, and guest requests.
  • A flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekend availability.

Job duties:

  • General room cleaning, including bathtubs, toilets, sinks, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents.
  • Stripping and making beds, changing bed linens.
  • Dusting all furniture, pictures, drawers, and shelves thoroughly.
  • Vacuuming rooms and emptying trash.
  • Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room.
  • Safe use of chemicals and other hazardous materials.
  • Respond in a timely manner to guest requests.
  • Other duties as assigned by Housekeeping Manager.

Physical demands:

  • Kneeling, crouching, bending, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to work alone in an established routine.
  • Ability to wear a vacuum backpack weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, shoulders and back.

We are looking for dependable, hard-working houseperson to join our Culinary Staffing Service team.

  • Setting up/breaking down events
  • Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of event areas
  • Taking out big bags of trash
  • Assist in assembling temporary dance floors, podiums and other structures
  • May be asked to double over as a housekeeper
  • May assist in transporting of food
  • Calling the on-site supervisor upon arrival
  • Carrying heavy items up and down stairs
