Fernando Gallegos, aka Kitchen Beast, has been chosen as our September Employee of the Month! We are delighted to recognize such a bright light and winning spirit. He has such a great personality and makes a lasting impression on every client of ours that he works for. During his time with Culinary Staffing, he has been added to multiple preferred lists and has worked all over Southern California assisting chefs in need of staffing. He is always willing to go above and beyond in the kitchen. Lastly, on a monthly basis, we are receiving excellent feedback from clients; he makes cooking in the kitchen look easy. Great job Fernando, we are stoked you are on our Culinary Back of House team!
We met up with Fernando to hear a little more about him. Here is what he had to say:
Culinary Staffing Services: What do you like to do on your free time?
Fernando Gallegos: On my spare time, I enjoy to fish or play pool.
CSS: What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?
FG: My life has been a challenge considering that I’ve been on my own since I was 14.
CSS: Do you have a nickname?
FG: My nick name around the kitchen is the kitchen beast. There isn’t any job that I can’t do around the kitchen prep hot line, fry, and sauté.
CSS: If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
FG: If I had the choice, I would eat BBQ everyday …
CSS: Least favorite Food?
FG: I hate jack fruit smells and tastes disgusting …
CSS: Tell us something about yourself that would surprise.us.
FG: Some people are surprised that I’m Muslim. I converted a few years ago and it’s been life changing to say the least …
CSS: What did you want to be when growing up? A. FG: When I was growing up, I thought I would end up being a electrician or in some kind of construction job.
But I’m glad I chose Culinary…Best decision of my life..
CSS: What is the weirdest job you’ve ever had? FG: I’ve served diplomats governors and royalty
CSS: What do you like most about Culinary Staffing?
FG: I’ve been in the kitchen for 20+ years, working for Culinary Staffing has allowed me to be flexible with my schedule no more 7 days a week for me yippee!!
CSS: What is the favorite part about working for Culinary Staffing?
FG: I love working with true professionals that have the same passion and experience as I do.
CSS: What do you like most about your job?
FG: Being able to jump in and make a difference is probably the most satisfying feeling ever.
CSS: What is your motto or personal mantra?
FG: My motto; punctual, clean, kind, and professional at all times. Which I think has given me the ability to work with anyone.
CSS: Do you have a favorite quote?
FG: My outlook on life. REACH FOR THE STARS BABY!!!
